Turns out it's just IGN being inaccurate - beating Leon A unlocks Claire B and vice versa. Each character has 2 campaigns you can pick but only the A campaign is unlocked at the start.

I never played the original RE2 and have been avoiding as much of this game as possible (knew for sure I'd get it from the first trailer). What's this A/B campaign stuff? I knew there were two campaigns and was planning on playing Leon's then Claire's so should I do Leon's A then Claire's B? As that's the way it unlocks I'd assume so, but what is the actual difference compared to doing it the other way? And is it worth playing through both ways?
