Yes certainly just 'not shit' appears to be my main/only priority. It seems though that I should seriously consider a smaller monitor instead for that kind of money, and maybe a decent amount of research is needed starting with the links you've kindly provided. Oh well, it would have been nice to play on Monday but better not to rush and end up with something really crap!
