1970 - 1980: Too young, better things to do with my time

1985 - 1990: C64 borrowed from Dad's work. Our first family PC, bought for writing essays, which was hijacked immediately to play Sierra games (Space Quest series my favourite). Also a bunch of terrible 100 game collection disks.

1990 - 1995: Still on PC, luckily Dad upgraded it for "work". Might and Magic, Ultima series, Doom, not a bad time really. We got a Mega Drive for christmas at some point, with Sonic 1 and 2, but it barely got a look in. Around 1994 I went to Uni and stopped playing games for a few years.

1995 - 2000: Had some disposable income for the first time. Picked up a N64 in 1998, with Mario 64, Wave Race and Goldeneye. Immediately sucked in to games again after my years in the wilderness. Exhausted N64 games after a while, so bought a Playstation in 1999 with MGS and FF7. Straight into my veins.

2000 - 2005: Dreamcast, PS2, Xbox, Gamecube, GBA, I had them all. Started reading websites looking for new and interesting stuff - particularly remember Rez, Frequency, Shenmue, PSO. Got a job in the games industry, which actually dampened my enthusiasm for games, but left after a couple of years. I had a PC but never used it for games, too strongly associated with work.

2005 - 2010: Again lost interest for a few years. Then in 2007 bought an Xbox 360, probably my favourite console ever, even though I went through 3 of them. Mass Effect series probably the stand out of this time, plus a sea of great XBLA games. Never got into shooters or multiplayer, but the 360 library was so vast there was still more than enough to play.

2010 - now: PS4, Switch, IPad. Actually it's almost 100% PS4, the Switch is just for Nintendo exclusives. PS4 is basically the next 360 for me, but with a better selection of Japanese titles and exclusives.
