    @RawShark I just put shelf stacking out there as the first relatively low paid job I could think of, where tips I'm sure would make a world of a difference. Perhaps a bad example.

    I'm certainly not playing the violin. I work in a role where I'm not customer facing, don't need or rely on, and would never expect tips. I just think it's strange how there is unwritten etiquette that some jobs (waiting staff, taxi drivers, hairdressers etc) get tips, but other similarly customer facing roles don't receive the same.
