I'd forgotten quite how niche our way of dealing with consoles / games / launches is. Until l read and contributed to a post, from a Mom with 3 kids around 8 - 13 years old, on Facebook that was something along the lines of 'whats the deelio wiv the ps5 then, can l get one before xmas?' The discussion, in fairness, was helpful and highlighted the issues with preorders and more stock availability etc. It then went into the merits of the disk v's physical and associated costs. Where upon the conversation branched off when another Mom got involved and a short back and forth ensued re: Kane and Oli's gaming habits, their ability (lack of) to look after their stuff and saving £100 to spend on something else. At which point preowned and selling physical games was mooted. Then the revelation dropped. 'I think digital is ok kane only plays Fortnite and GTA'... 'yeah oli's the same'. While l was tempted to chime in with 'save your £350 and just let them carry on playing on their perfectly suitable Ps4's' l, frankly, lost all enthusiasm for the conversation. |
