@irrelevanthuman I'm not sure about CX, but I have a C9 and AFAIK game mode isn't supported when the TV is outputting audio via bluetooth. Have to use optical or HDMI out. I had the same issue with my One X, so I don't think this is necessarily a PS5 thing.
