After several attempts at buying a PS5 and losing it between basket and checkout, I ended up getting a Series S and Game Pass to tide me over. I’ve always stuck with Sony / Nintendo so fancied something that would let me try out a few exclusives I’d missed, plus I love the look of the Series S. Enjoying it so far, great machine, decent enough graphical leap from PS4, great selection on Game Pass. It still however sits in the spare room and will very much be the secondary console once my PS5 finally arrives. I get why currently Game Pass is tempting as release schedules are a bit bare, but Sony exclusives are in a different league from Microsoft and whether you like it or not, PlayStation remains the industry standard brand in gaming. I don’t see it being in trouble, though fear it could become complacent - hopefully the success of Game Pass and a more competitive Microsoft this generation stops that. |
