To get the photo in return for a gift, I think the gift has to be worth more than a certain value, and is still a bit random. I stumbled on this when I noticed I only seemed to get the photo when I gifted them high value bugs/fish (those blue butterflies would probably work currently) whereas fruit/iron/sea bass/clothing etc never worked. I switched to crafted high value items when I noticed. Another really obscure game mechanic. |
