    There's a few acronyms in there that I think I'll have to get my head around
    Yeah, there are always more acronyms. In this case its a one off thing, so you wont need to know DNS or DHCP in detail.

    DNS is just mapping something like koha.example.com to an IP address. And an IP address is a "unique" number that other machines use to reach your one. Using DNS just makes it easier than saying 84.198.82.45

    DHCP is just getting a laptop/server/phone an IP address (and other bits). Sometimes you don't even need it. But that depends how your network is setup.

    Network stuff is often harder to explain as there is more to it than I'm letting on, but you shouldn't need to know much more than this to set up a server. The postal address analogy is often used to explain IP addresses and routing
