I'm going back-and-forth on this one. I had a 1TB external SSD, and it was indeed fine. Especially now when the majority of games don't *require* the internal/Seagate drive to operate. But that's gonna change, and I really don't think I'll have the patience to shuttle games back and forward.
My SSD caddy assploded and took out the drive a couple of weeks back. I'm thinking just spend the two hundred and forget about it. But at the same time I'm all "fuck you and your opportunistic price gouging." So I dunno.
It's expensive, but it's not break-the-bank expensive. The main temptation for me isn't to wait for the price to come down, but rather for a 2TB official expansion drive to arrive. If this generation goes on for seven-ish years like the last two, I'm imagining the games will balloon in size again by the end.
Tsk. You forget about "the power of the cloud". They'll be streaming assets down your pipe before you run out of space! |
