Blimey, Titanfall 2 in 120 HDR looks a bit smart.

I remember it looking good but it really does pop.

120hz felt better than 60, but not to a huge extent. On balance I preferred 4K60 rather than 120hz at a lower resolution. I think that the game’s looks get lifted to something close a recently published AAA game at 4K res. It doesn’t look bad at the lower resolution but starts to show its age - the drop in pixels felt more jarring than the drop in frame rate.
I didn’t think FPS boost affected the resolution? Unless maybe the dynamic res is more aggressive trying to hit 120fps?

(Edit, they have indeed lowered the res to hit 120. Guess DF will be along shortly to tell us by how much)

I’ve not tried Titan fall 2 at 120 yet and I’m relatively new to 120fps in general. Like you I can’t really detect a visual difference in smoothness but I find the motion clarity really is much better even without BFI. And the controller response is noticeably sharper.

I went into this generation thinking I’d choose the 4K/ray traced/max shiny options at 30fps as I’d been happy with the often sub 30 of the previous gen. I’ve now done a complete 180 on that and I’ll be hugely disappointed if we start getting 30fps only titles again. 60+ just feels so much better to play and is much clearer in motion.
