Thing is, on my PS5, it’s pretty rare that I’ll need to go into the actual library bit, as it just happily keeps track of all my recently played games, and it has enough space to keep a few of them on the main Home Screen.

On the Xbox (Series S) just opening up Gamepass or the Store or Microsoft Rewards will bump all your recently played games off the end of the list.

It’s not a major hardship, I grant you, but it does give an impression of screen space being wasted by stuff at the expense of the core experience of playing games. Not bad, but definitely a “could do better “.
You'd do well to create some groups of games you're currently interested and/or playing and pin them to the home screen.

I've got a bunch of stuff pinned to the home page, Quick Resume, stuff I'm currently playing, multiplayer games, bc stuff etc, etc. I rarely have to dip out of the home screen to be honest.

Although I'd agree it would be nice to exclude everything but games in the recently launched bar.
