Arguably life itself is a lottery. You can try to stay as safe and healthy as imaginable and yet still get cancer or get hit by a car or get gunned down in the streets by some random maniac.

Letting ourselves get bogged down by the notion is exactly what we should not do because it takes away from the enjoyment of living. As long as we do it within reason, which is exactly what the lockdown is about: avoiding to overburden the health services and make the risks "acceptable".
The latter being extremely subjective, which is precisely what makes this sort of thing such a shit show.

C'est la vie, say the old folks, etc.
This is exactly how I feel now.
I got a phone call from work yesterday, I have been selected to go back and help setup our workplace for what will be the new 'normal' soon.
They were happy for me to sleep on it and talk to the wife. We both came to the conclusion that we need some normality back and life could turn really shit if we don't get back to some sort of normality.
So I back to work on Monday! Yay!
