Lost my 92 year old dad this morning at 0030. He'd tested positive 2 weeks ago in the care home he was in. He took a turn for the worse and had a heart failure because of Covid on Sunday night. Rushed to Worthing A&E by ambulance, and remained unconscious until the end. I managed to say a few words to him over the phone before he went, as my sister managed to get in with full PPE, and held her phone up to his ear. I'm 1,000 miles away and now have to negotiate driving back through 3 countries to be with family. There's no way I'm flying, planes are just high altitude virus incubators. #fuckcovid. |
