I think what they are calling for is it not to be guidance, but rules - and with the financial support. It's the same problem we've had since the start all over again. Take just hospitality and retail as an example. Govt suggests people shouldn't go, but not mandate businesses closing. Result is either people do go and case numbers go up, or people don't go and businesses suffer with no financial support and it effects the economy. Either outcome is negative, but in each case they can say "not our fault". And yet it is entirely their fault. |
