    Not necessarily - bats are host to many viruses but seem to have evolved in paralell with them. Suggesting bats auto immune systems keep the viruses in check and not overwhelm the host.

    The human auto immune system hasn't evolved in tandem and until exposed to them. And I guess that viruses aren't really classed as living but more of a process of evolution that exists regardless of a hosts body to survive them or not.
