I reckon all of us are familiar with the syndrome of buying a game and playing it once, and then never playing it again. Or even a few times, then no more.
What is it that keeps you playing a game?

My thoughts it would be along the lines of the following:

A) A friend also plays the game. (a big motivation)
B) Different every time you play. (procedural generated, or daily missions)
C) Compelling storyline.
D) Achievement orientated, you have a target or achievement you want to hit.
E) Aesthetically pleasing world (something like Mario)
F) Other
