@Samildanach I think prior to that computers were a thing you saw in scifi movies or 70s renditions of offices with big reel to reel tape machines. The only thing prior to that were arcade machines in dodgy biker bars and arcades. I spent an inordinate amount of time playing a table-top "cocktail" cabinet of the 1980 game Phoenix, which was both tough and fun. In 1982, it was all about the frankly terrible Horace goes skiing, Hungry Horace and The Hobbit. By 1983 we were on Frogger, Manic Miner, Atic Atac, Jetpac, Cookie, Pssst, Tranz Am and a whole hoast of other hard as nails games as the birth of gaming exploded everywhere. |
