Wish I was looking forward to this, but they ruined the trilogy with ME2 imo.

The first game, for all its technical faults, was a glorious, synth-laden space epic.

ME2 imo was a pointless Collector/Cerberus/squad-gathering road to nowhere.

And it left ME3 with too much to do to get the Reaper story back on track (not to mention the whole ending palaver).

I'll try ME1 Legendary at least for the technical improvements when it hits Game Pass.
I don't know that I'd call the squad gathering in ME2 "pointless". That *was* the point; you getting a team together for an impossible mission.

It was much more character-focused than the first game. Which might not be to your taste, but it's not pointless.
Well, pointless in that it felt like side-quest busywork. And it fragmented the overall story into a disjointed collection of unrelated mini-stories.

It's like somebody had the idea for squad-gathering, and then worked backwards from that. Except they made it the *whole point* of the game, instead of what could have been just an interesting component.

As a result, I didn't really feel like the main story was really going anywhere, until the admittedly bombastic suicide mission.

But hey, just my 2 cents.
