Sounds like the wheel fix is actually coming January for XS/PS5 from the Twitter feed. Next week’s update is for last gen, which includes some new stages in Portugal.

I’m still stuck on last gen while I wait for scalpers to leave some consoles for the rest of us to buy, so at least I can commiserate with new content.
