This, like all games of the same genre, is digital crack. I've only got as far as the second stage of research (red blocks), so I have lots to do yet, and looking forward to every bit. Used one of the tips in the videos above - started to build an equatorial energy belt. Only one unit wide (one wind turbine, two solar panels, repeat), and only 90 degrees around the planet so far, but so much more organised than my previous mess of wind turbines whenever I needed them. The "some solar panels always in the sun" benefit won't really cut in until I get past 180 degrees, but I have an excess at the moment anyway. Just getting prepared for mass red block production. Could do with a blueprint system like Factorio. I do understand there's a mod you can use, but hopefully it will come along in the main game eventually. |
