I moved my work PC to my home office about 6 months ago and had some predicament.

This USB WiFi adaptor has been brilliant - faster speeds than my laptop wifi and I'm sat at the furthest corner of our house, in regards to the Router:

I use the cradle it comes with, so I don't knock it (sits on my desk).

edit: as others have said, split your WiFi to 2Ghz + 5Ghz as well.
