    Also, scale. I don't think you could name a subscription goal too ridiculous for Microsoft's ambitions. Particularly if they can actually nail cloud gaming.

    Buying a studio or making a game or acquiring a game costs a certain amount of money - a huge amount of money right now it's true. Ignoring infrastructure & delivery though, that content creation cost doesn't suddenly increase because you now have 200 million subscribers instead of 10 million.

    I'm not particularly worried about pricing going up or everything becoming a MT-addled mess any time soon. I think they're more interested in getting more people to give them a tenner a month via explosive growth. Can't see that changing for a long time.
