I'm on the third course in adventure mode now, the dry desert one and I'm still not convinved I actually understand the swing mechanics properly. Unfortunately it's a bit of a step backwards for me. It's a while since I last played it but Mario Golf on the GameCube seemed like perfection to me. I get part 1 of the swing, but if you're not applying any curve during part 2, what exactly are you even doing there? It doesn't seem to make any difference when you press the button. It's also really difficult to apply just a small amount of spin. Seems really unintuitive and a much inferior swing mechanic. Also, does anyone else have problems triggering SUPER TOPSPIN? No matter how quickly I double-tap the button I only ever seem to get regular top spin. Finally, while I normally give Switch games the benefit of the doubt for their graphics as usually the style wins over high fidelity visuals, this does look a bit of a dog. |
