    @boo keep hold of the clubs you’ve got as if it turns out you’re half decent they’ll probably be a good set to move on to. For a few hundred quid your local pro will be able to sell you a very decent set of second hand clubs that will suit your needs and do you for a good few years.

    There’s a load of marketing bollocks in golf to sell you the latest gear that makes bugger all difference if you don’t have the basic skills, so just stick to going out and having fun unless you really click with it. Loads of people take up golf thinking it looks easy when it’s actually a very difficult game unless you have some natural talent.

    Enjoy - it’s a very addictive game if you get the bug.
