It is a 24 hour/7 days/18 year job + the rest. You will both have to make sacrifices, you will not be able to do the things you want on a whim. If you are scared, your partner is probably more so.

It is a life changing event and with it will be hardship but also much joy and delight. Just remember billions of people have kids. It can't be that hard, can it?

Mine are 17 and 14 and both are pretty good and smart kids. Next week they may well be shite bags.
