@JoeBlade Because that's the part the parent is responsible for, has control over and is most affected by. I'm looking forward to my kids being 30 and me being 60 but it would be nuts to primarily base a decision on whether to have a kid on whether you'd like there to be one more 65 year old in the world in a few decades' time rather than based on whether you want to do the insane amount of work required for the first 20 years.
