Larger games there's a few I have done multiple times in the past (Mario64, Goldeneye, Vice City and pretty much everything I had on the Genesis I had at school).

Ocarina of Time I played several times through on the N64 and then again on 3DS, and recently did another run with my boy.

For me it's more likely to be arcade style games which get picked up. Still regularly playing Tetris in various forms, Mario Karts, R-Type, Outrun (360), Sega Rally (Saturn or emulated arcade), Geometry Wars, Crazy Taxi (DC). Oh, and Hades and Hotline Miami.

Too many new games and not enough time to generally go back, but I did do my 4th playthrough of Universal Paperclips yesterday.

--edit-- forgot the why.... In the past it was because I had more time, and you wanted to get everything out of a purchase. These days it's because those ones I listed are easy to pick up for a short play (though you often end up playing for hours) and just give an instant hit of gaming.
