There are better games but as people have already mentioned, the way Goldeneye gave you new objectives on different difficulties made replaying it a joy.

I'm sure the reason they don't do it now must be due to cost of further development.

I remember seeing it in Timesplitters (note sure if it was in the first or subsequent sequels) which made it day one for me.

I've also loved replaying final fantasy 7 and Zelda OoT once enough time has passed. Probably played those about five times each.
