Ceiling noise is notoriously difficult to isolate due to flanking noise coming down through all your side walls.

It depends on expectations expect a noise reduction by about 10-15% max im afraid.

Had similar problems which affected my mental health many years ago and ended up moving into a detached house which was a shit hole so got it cheap but no adjoining fucktards to spoil my life.
