Strange to read the post suggesting it's odd for people to feel sad about this. To add to My earlier post I am indeed sad about this. As others have said I feel like I know the people here even though I do not. It's a place I come to several times a day to read about a hobby I love through the eyes of a bunch of folks I've grown strangely fond of. I have enjoyed hearing those folks take on a whole range of things I'm passionate about or interested in and I too check in several times a day to read the reaction to the latest footy fixtures or hear about how others are getting on with games I've been enjoying. My then 5 year old daughter stole flowers from the animal crossing town of @thingy. I spent countless hours on Thursday nights Mario Kart Wii meet up and shaving seconds off the unbelievable time trials set by folks here. I still have several EG'ers on my Switch friends list from back then. I too Already signed up to the new place and I hope I continue to see those familiar names chewing the fat over the latest events in gaming and beyond. Until that happens I'm perfectly comfortable with the feeling the loss of something that has been a part of my day for almost 15 years. |
