    Not really. It's not like we're here uninvited and don't contribute to traffic to the site. Many regulars have been visiting the site for up to 20 years.
    I suspect that in a world where you can measure unique ad impressions, it's perhaps optimistic to see traffic from the same few hundred people constantly refreshing one sub-section of the site as a net contribution. How many potential customers is the forum delivering to advertisers when the forum has hardly attracted any new users in a decade and a half? We can try to guess but EG have the numbers...

    One could argue that they could keep it running just for old times' sake, as a favour to people that were around at the start even though there's bugger all in it for them, but FWIW I prefer to see it as good that they've effectively done that for the last ten years rather than bad that they're not going to keep doing it forever.
