I have the QF9N which was the flagship a few years ago and I have never regretted the purchase. I was looking mainly at OLEDs but as my living room is very bright (white walls and ceiling, and one end mostly windows) I knew I wouldn't get the full contrast benefits of OLED. During the day there would be too much ambient light, and at night a bright scene would light up the room too. The filter on the Samsung is fantastic, even with direct sunlight shinning on it the reflections are minimal. The only time it's an issue is if you are watching considerably off axis, but then other issues start arising too (mainly slight bloom on HDR content and a drop in contrast). That's where an OLED has a really big advantage but as I always sit straight on (or very slightly to the side) it's not an issue for me. |
