    having been reading the wifeinspace blog reviews of all the old Hartnell thru Pertwee episodes, they come across as more frustrating, illogical and contradictory than the current series.

    Terry Nation seems to be a byword for duff stories by their reviews so I imagine there's a lot of rose tinted nostalgia combined with the other grass always being greener with people watching new Who.

    I just wish Moffat would let things be low key, as opposed to always on the cusp of the end of the world.

    That and tighten up the scripts so they're on a par with his earlier pre show runner episodes / Sherlock for a quality ratio. Heck, even up to the level of *most* of Jekyll'd be enough.

    ..and have the odd historical episode with no alien / sci-fi element
