    It might seem obvious and but the problem with most huge companies is that they don't tend to have their own call center support as it's too costly to setup. There are more than enough call centres throughout the country that are competing for contracts from these huge companies it means Microsoft are getting this call center support for dirt cheap somewhere.

    It's certainly no excuse but that person you're speaking to on the telephone is probably getting paid 5.50 an hour, has done 20 console repairs already today, they've had bugger all training and probably only been employed for a week as the staff turnover is so shit.
