My god, the economist have really swallowed the Nintendo line lock, stock and barrel.

It's not that it's a bad line but a bit of research and a slightly critical attitude might have not have gone amiss.

Do casual gamers really want a box under their telly? Are nintendo in danger of alienating their core audience? Is the wand an effective controller? Could the non-gamer market be engaged by life-like graphics? The economist can't be bothered to find out!

Think most of these have actually been answered, box under the telly? - Well if non-gamers have a DS in their pocket, then perhaps.

Core audience? - looks like all the usual suspects will make it to the Wii.

The Wand, from most reviews we can see it works fine.

Life-like graphics - you could argue that if this was the case the games market would not have stopped growing.

Its a good article, and the real point is to highlight that Nintendo are trying something different this time, will it work? Fuck knows!
