Slightly off-topic, but why do people trade in?

I haven't done it for years as you get less than half the value, and the credit locks you to that store (unless you accept even less value in cash).

For the last few years I've always just eBayed them. They typically sell for marginally less than new, and even after fees and postage you're left with more money that you can spend wherever you want. Takes 2 minutes to list.

EG sold Zelda Breath of the Wild for £32 after fees/postage at the weekend. Game would offer me £14 cash according to their site.

Perhaps for older games the value difference isn't so significant and therefore the convenience outweighs it, but for new releases I find it difficult to see why you would trade in.
