    So it sounds like there are a mixture of responses here, some of which include that we should trust the people we elected to make decisions on our behalf. I think where that falls down is when they make decisions that they weren't elected for. So what's wrong with having a referendum for anything a govt wants to implement that wasn't in a manifesto? Apart from the fact that with the current bunch of liars and cheats we would be forever having referendum(s) - what happened to someone sorting out the plural of this??
