Where do you lot stand on the whole "water" thing? Seems to be two quite opposing schools of thought on how much water we should be drinking.

For quite a few years the message has been that most of us don't drink enough, and we should all be having lots more, and if your wee isn't clear you're not drinking enough etc etc.

But I've seen a lot of stuff recently saying this is nonsense, and in fact clear wee is a sign you're over-hydrated. Apparently on farms if animals have clear wee they're sent to the vets. The thinking seems to be shifting towards drinking lots of water flushes your system of nutrients, and you don't need to force yourself to drink more than you'd normally like because the body has a perfectly adequate system foe letting you know when you need to drink i.e. thirst.

    Thoughts?
Drink when you are thirsty. The body is pretty good at regulating it's hydration levels on it's own. All that "drink X liters of water a day" stuff is just bullshit.

Also, why would you need to drink more water when taking protein supplements? Those supplements are really just normal food.
