    I always come away with some tenderness in my lower back. I make sure to bend at the hips and knees, keeping my body parallel to the floor. My back is still engaged to keep my body straight, though.

    I can get around it by doing it laid flat on an incline bench, but I'm hitting it higher in the back with that movement.

    My last gym had a reverse hyper machine, but I can't say I ever fancied using it.
