    Pro Logic 2 is just a normal stereo signal with extra channels encoded into it, so anything than can send stereo sound can send Pro Logic 2.

    Pro Logic 2's decoding has got some nice side effects in that it'll automatically 'surroundise' everything, in the discrete formats (DD, DTS) things have to be specifically sent to the rears for example, which with things like music is often not bothered with for various reasons. It also has some bad side effects too though such as dodgy positioning and lower quality, so it's not all good.
