Im not meaning to defend bgie here, but that is kind of a naive thing to say. For one, when the mexican-american war began there was hardly any mexicans living in Texas or the rest of the S.west except for a estimated 50 thousand. And the majority of 'whites' who did live there were not even american citizens, most of them were Scotish, Cajun [french] and Germans. So its wrong to assume that Texas is 'rightfully' mexican given that when it was there were hardly any mexicans there.
The sad thing is that alot of people think the way you do, and that is part of the reason why there are so many 'ethnic' wars in the world, like the Serbs fighting for a 'greater serbia' and the hutu/tutsi conflicts, and the basque seperatist movement among others.
