@kentmonkey If you're willing to forego the dedicated graphics, then you can get something like the Dell Inpsiron for sub £450 with a coupon (think it brings it down to £440.

Last gen Ryzen 5, but the integrated Vega 8 graphics (same as on a Desktop Ryzen 3 2200G/3200G) will be better than the Intel equivalent. It's also only got one stick of RAM so to get the best out of the CPU/GPU (about +10-20%) you may want the get another stick of RAM to put it in dual channel mode. Depends how happy you are taking apart a brand new laptop though (warranty etc.). Screen is not IPS either.

That should rinse through any work stuff no problem (even without the extra RAM) and still be OK for older games at low/medium settings 720p (maybe 1080p)

Of the three I linked I owuld personally go for either the Dell or the Acer, because I would prefer to have the option to upgrade later. The soldered RAM in the Asus would put me off personally, but then I don't mind taking apart things for upgrades.

Sadly with the COVID situation the deals don't seem to be as good this year compared to last. (Laptops with similarly specs to the Dell were £400 and below)
