@kentmonkey The screen brightness seems to be an issue with a lot of more budget-oriented laptops, though I would think it only starts being a real problem if you were to use it outside a lot. Unnfortunately, unless you can pay the big bucks there's normally some sort of compromise involved. I spent waaaaaaaay too much time looking at all of this last year trying to find laptops for my Dad and nephew! If it helps at all, I got them both Ryzen laptops and they haven't missed a beat. They've both been really pleased with them. Dad - Ryzen 3 2200U, 8GB RAM (dual channel), 120GB SSD + hardrive, TN screen (Light use - mails and web browsing). Bought it refurbished and upgraded the RAM and storage afterwards. Nephew - Ryzen 5 3500U, 8GB RAM (dual channel), 512GB SSD, IPS screen (schoolwork and Youtube/Netflix etc.) |
