    Infuriating.

    Anyone played Trickerion yet?
Was trying for a game last night - ended up playing Catan, so as not to intimidate a newer gamer. Trickerion's been out of the box for a component check and rules run through. The bloody thing is gorgeous and looks like being a really meaty game. One of the most impressive things I've received from kickstarter yet.

Picked up the little discussed The Producer a couple of weeks ago. 1940's Hollywood sim featuring classic movies and actors. It can't be published in the U.S., due to licensing issues. I've heard the rules are a dog, but I'm hoping to get it on the table soon.

Currently got a new copy of Splotter's Roads & Boats with the expansion, and Antiquity, to unbox and sort. The former has 1600 pieces, apparently. Fuck knows when I'm getting time to sort that. I moaned enough about putting stickers on the resource chips for Silverton the other day.

At least I've got one box of Shadows of Brimstone set up. That needs playing, urgently. And I managed a first play of Leaving Earth, today. It's more of an indie title, about the history and competition of space exploration from the mid-50s onwards. Beautiful components, and the rules are really well done. It feels like playing a game of High Frontier, without the designer's idiosyncrasies punching you in the balls every five minutes. Cost a bomb to ship to the UK sadly. May as well have been stumping up for rocket fuel.

And speaking of Phil Eklund (High Frontier). My grailest of Grail games arrived last week. I finally have a copy of Origins: how we became human. No-one makes games like this guy. I'll pretty much buy anything he puts out now.

Oh, lovely new thematic co-op which I'd highly recommend: Burgle Bros. if you ever wanted to be in a heist (especially with a cool '60's vibe) give it a look. The designer also made Paperback. He's good.
