I've been lurking for a long time - great thread.

Finally got round to getting Cosmic Encounter - yet to get 5 of us together to play but very much looking forward to it. Other recently acquired-but-as-of-yet-unplayed games include the Arctic Scavengers Recon expansion, Battlestar Galactica and Mysterium. Lots of good stuff to get into. I'm particularly looking forward to BSG as our group are massive fans of Dead of Winter (cannot wait for The Long Night expansion later this year).

Is no one here into Ashes: Rise of the Phoenixborn? I was never really into any form of collectible card game but a few of us have become obsessed with Ashes, an elegant, gorgeous and very entertaining duelling card game that offers some pretty interesting innovations.
    Hey Flex!

Ashes is definitely on my list to pick up this year (as is Blood Rage, apropos nothing). There's no way I'll go down the financial rabbit hole of Magic, but I've seen nothing but good things about Ashes. Plus, as my wife enjoys playing Blue Moon Legends with me, so much (and she always bloody wins), I think this is actually close enough to that for her to get into it.

Which reminds me: I still need to teach her The Duke and Sun Tsu (although I'm not crazy about the latter after a first play).

Liberty or Death is on the shelf - comfortably the most gorgeous looking COIN game yet. Tonight I had a first two-player game of Tesla vs Edison, which seems to have a little of everything to it: area dominance, action selection, stock market manipulation. Head is spinning but I REALLY liked it after one play.

Our daughter has just turned nine months old, and has become fascinated by the sound of dice rolling. She's too small to put hands on them, yet, but she's big enough to roll around on the Hoplomachus mat and clink the chips together.

    We have micro-games, why not a micro-gamer?

Speaking of Hoplomachus, I received a batch of chips of my character in with the Origins bundle. (As I said a fair few nice things about the first two games on BGG, as a thank you, the designers turned me into a tribute gladiator chip... which, probably for the best, looks nothing like me.)

I'm now all in for Too Many Bones, their dice-fest RPG. Doing insanely well on kickstarter at the moment. Certainly looks different.
