Got Mansions of Madness set up and started, last night. The minis aren't great and putting the bases together without damaging anything has taken way too long. It's the only negative in what's looking to be an amazing experience. (For what it's worth, Arkham Horror is my favourite game - Eldritch Horror is way up there.) Preorder in for Legendary Firefly (no way that's hitting its retail release of tomorrow, here; it's way too quiet). Hoping it's more in line with the Alien version, rather than the disappointing Predator game. Finally scored a copy of Sherlock Holmes Consulting Detective. Will break into it once I feel more intelligent. Played a first game of The Networks yesterday. Really smart tableau-builder/economic game about running a TV station. Plays really well solo, too. Anyone have any experience of U-Boat Leader or Gato Leader from DVG? I'm asking for next payday... Let my Kickstarter pledge slide on Evil Dead 2 an hour before it funded. A company whose never created a game, given a tonne of money, is promising forever to backers who keep demanding they throw other untested shit in. I think they'll get something, but I can't see it being better than Camp Grizzly. To watch a KS project go down in flames, have a look at "Mech Command" (and, yeah, IP lawyers are going to mince them for that). It funded massively when it was "officially licensed from From as the Armored Core game"... then they dumped the licence once it funded well. Latest update seems to suggest they never had the licence secured, and the way they've brought all new stuff out, to avoid a lawsuit, suggests this was planned from the outset. It's haemorrhaging backers and causing a civil war in the comments. And the designers tried to obfuscate the fact that they're way more closely linked to a KS game that they never completed, despite taking a lot of cash off people. It's an utter clusterfuck and I don't believe they'll ever complete it, sadly. |
