Really hated it. If this wins any Oscars that will be a mistake of Forrest Gump-like proportions. Contrived, unfunny (they were going for black comedy here), tone deaf, and with characters that do not even feel remotely true. There is zero point to this film.
For once I agree with the negative user reviews on Metacritic more than the professional opinion.
Saw it last night and loved it. The one thing I agree with is that there isn't a single believable character in it. You're right but they're not supposed to be, that's part of its charm and where a lot of the comedy comes from. I thought it was excellent. |
