Much remorse/100
Shite. Poor writing, woeful dialogue levels and some preposterous scenes, requiring to great a leap in incredulity.
I devoured Clancy's books back in the 80s since they appeared to be written for teen age boys with an interest in military hardware, but with few exceptions (Red October perhaps) the films are pretty rough with flag waving politics front and centre. I was probably aware of this later once I hit later teens but still enjoyed some plotting.
it's so far removed from the book it's a bit of a piss take. The first third was ok, formulaic but ok. After that - wowsers. In need of a rewrite. A bunch of rewrites. |
