F9, Fast 9, Fast & Furious 9, whatever it's called... I don't know, I'm conflicted. On the one hand it's clearly self aware and aiming for a laugh, going as far as actually delivering on a long circulating meme about the series in quite possibly the most ridiculous scene in recent cinema history. But on the flipside it's also become a complete caricature of itself. If the Wayans brothers made a spoof Fast & Furious film, I'm not sure it would look any different to Fast 9. So yeah, it's hilariously bad and obviously knows it, but that also doesn't quite excuse how shit it actually is, or does it, I don't know, I'm confused. Worth a chuckle I guess. 5/10 |
